When Google first launched its official digital market, it was named Android Market (which is still used by Android OS 2.3 and lower), and then the name was changed to Google Play Store, which is how most of us know it today. But sometimes, for some reason, you may not find the Play Store app on your new device.
Maybe you got a second-hand smartphone, or you bought a “clone” mobile phone or tablet from some cheap market (usually from China). In this case, what do you do to get Play Store onto your device?
How to download Google Play Store on my Android device?
Well, the problem of not having Play Store on your Android device might look like big deal, but don’t worry at all; it’s actually quite easy and simple to fix. You can download the Google Play Store app from the web to your Android device. Here’s how to do it:
Download the latest version of Google Play Store (hint: we have included a totally secure, free Google Play Store download link in this post for your convenience). Just try to choose a trustworthy site so you can guarantee a safe download (sometimes people stick malware and other stuff you don’t want on your Android into APK downloads).
Then look for Play Store app as an APK file (the file type that all Android applications use). Tap the link to download the APK file.
But remember that, before installing, you have to go first to the settings in your Android device, go to security settings and turn on “Allow apps from unknown sources”. You can do this while you’re waiting for the file to finish downloading.
Now, you need to open the APK file after the download is finished either by tapping the notification bar that is telling you “download complete”, or by using a file manager app.
In case you don’t have a Wi-Fi internet connection or cellular data on your Android, you can also download the APK file on your computer and connect the smartphone or tablet to it using a USB cable and transfer the file, or you can use a Bluetooth connection to transfer the Google Play Store APK file to your device, if your device has that option. And that’s all!
